Wednesday

So today, my glutes and my shoulders aren't very happy with me. In fact it hurts to carry my purse. The thighs are marginally better, though. It's all good. This muscle soreness and not knee pain or back pain or anything like that.

For the record, although I like the Iron Core DVD workouts, I'm not 100% on board with them. I have no doubt that Sarah Lurie teaches a great kbell class that would kick my posterior into next week, but there are few things in the DVD workouts that DRIVE ME INSANE.

First off, at the end of each exercise, she cuts to the break by saying something like, "Now go have a wittle sip of water..." with a very sing-songy voice that makes me feel like she's addressing a 4 yr old. WTF? Don't make me throw this kettlebell at the TV. I mean, my DH would love an excuse to buy a new one but I would rather not.

Also, when they come back to the workout after break, she always appears to be engrossed in a conversation with one of the background exercisers that ends with a tip about the next exercise. Now, I appreciate the form pointers and they are helpful, so keep including them. But really, the 'scene' they create looks SO staged that it's not even funny. I know that you and your crew are not filming this live. There's no need to pretend. JUST REMIND ME OF WHAT I NEED TO KNOW.

I don't mean to be harsh. The workouts are good. She seems like a nice person and I'd love to take her live class some day. I just don't think that some of these instructors realize that many of us do these workouts repeatedly. And those little cutesy things that might seem fun once, just turn into huge grating annoyances over time.

Now, I'm on the look out for more kettlebell workouts. There are a few out there but some of them are a little pricey. I am looking at the Art of Strength workouts. Any recs?

Beck Diet Solution Day 17. Overcome Overeating.

Today's 'task' is to practice leaving food on your plate. Basically, it's ok to hand in your membership card to the "Clean Plate Club."

Since I'm too tired to be bothered with cooking tonight, I'm pretty sure we'll be having carry-out from Boston Market. I know a certain canine will be thrilled to help me with any leftovers I may have tonight. :)

Workout: I'll probably go for a short run with SIL's pooch. She was thrilled that the pup had lost a pound last week after our other runs.

Hehehehehehehe... a wee bit cranky, are we?? But stuff like that would drive me insane, too. Actually, most people on the Yas seem to start with the IC set but move on to others quickly. Have you picked up the goddess workout yet? I like that one a lot, but I got sick of doing it.

Oh, I just saw your comments in the previous post. I really like the goddess workout a lot. It's the AoS workout redone with a chick instructor - apparently a lot more instructional than AoS but um, not nearly so hot.

Gosh, I'm so shallow.

Lesley (Redcat1) is a HUGE Kbeller, if she reads here I hope she weighs in with some recs...
