Good morning!
Yesterday's workout: Tracie Long Training Strength in Movement with Jen Carman. I actually enjoyed this workout more than the first time I used the DVD. I'm not a huge fan of the medicine ball moves but I think those will be easier to execute if I use a smaller ball than the one I used last night. (It's not heavier; it has a larger diameter than the weighted balls used in the workout.) Anyhow, it's a 55 min, total body workout. Jen uses the medicine ball and dumbbells with an optional dowel. It's a circuit style with dumbbell segments interspersed with cardio using the medicine ball for intensity. I may try adding my gliding discs to some of the lower body work. I think it may make the moves easier to execute.
I'd hoped to get in a run this morning but no dice. Hopefully, I'll have some time this evening for some sort of cardio.

You know, for the life of me I could not get into that set of workouts at all. I thought Jen sounded like she was near death's door through most of the workout - either she's picked up smoking or she was way out of her endurance range. Which is too bad... they were so awesome in some of those old Firms.... I'm glad you liked it, though!
It's weird but the first time I tried this workout, I *hated* it. With a passion.
For some reason, Thursday night, time just flew while I was doing the workout. Something that hasn't happened for me in quite some time wrt to workouts.
Re: comparison of these to the old Firms. Without a doubt, Tracie has nowhere near the filmmaking talent that Anna Benson and Mark Henriksen do. Still, I do love the backdrop of that gym. What an amazing view to enjoy during a workout!
