Lately, I've been doing an OK job of maintaining, but my workouts (other than running) haven't been all that great. Plus, my eating has been all over the place. Yes, there are other things going on in my life right now, but I need to stop using that as an excuse to avoid doing what I have to do. And really, that's exactly what I have been doing. I have been struggling to find my focus, and I think I finally found something. :)
Earlier this year I bought a pair of Levi's jeans at Target that I just fell in love with. They fit perfectly on me and look fabulous. Naturally, as soon as I bought them, Target stopped carrying them. Even worse, I started losing weight and I knew that the pair I had wouldn't fit me much longer. I literally hit every Target in the metro trying to find another pair. No dice. In the past couple of months I've been shopping for some new jeans since the ones I have were starting to hang on me. Nothing has really worked as well.
In a fit of desparation, I emailed the Levi's site to see if they could recommend a similar style. (The tag on the jeans I have reads "Manufactured for Target.") Wonder of wonders, they got back with me and let me know that they sell the same style at a few other places and even sent me a list of stores in my area. I managed to find a pair in the next smaller size. I wore them yesterday and they are perfect, maybe even a tiny bit too big!
So, with a little work, I am convinced I can actually be in the next smaller size by New Year's. (Or shortly thereafter.) So here goes!
Yesterday, after figuring out how much vacation I have leftover for the year, I decided to play hookey and took a much-needed day off. It's been a while since I've enjoyed one of these that did not involve someone being sick or otherwise being out of commission. It was wonderful! I ran a bunch errands and did a little preliminary Christmas shopping.
Among the stops was the annual Gear/Champion Warehouse Sale. Major score on some UnderArmour clothes so I have no excuse for not keeping up my running outside a bit longer. I bought almost $200 worth of stuff for $85.
And, Tony fans, this link was in my email yesterday....

That's so awesome, Rose!!!! Good for you! I think that's a great motivator. What number are the jeans, if you don't mind me asking? I just bought a pair of 542s that I like a lot. Prior to that I think I was wearing the 545s. (They sell both at Kohl's but of course the sizes available are really sketchy.)
BTW, what did you think of Project Runway? You saw it, right? I don't want to say anything to spoil it if you haven't...
Thanks, Marie!
That's my problem with these jeans: they don't have a number!
The tag reads: Levi Strauss Signature Low Rise Bootcut Stretch. Not too low, not too much 'boot' and just enough stretch. :) There's also a Mid Rise version that I didn't like quite as much. And I found them at KMart.
PR4 is off to great start! I didn't think Rami's dress was all that but it was gorgeous. I'm glad to see the judges are well-rested and the bitchiness is back.
Btw, if you have some time, hit YouTube and search for Project Runway Canada. A member named MsRoyalT (or something like that) has uploaded the first 6 (so far) eps. Iman is AMAZING!! Those judges are HARSH.
Score!!!! I've always liked Levis, and boy oh boy do I like a bargain!!!! And isn't it great to be buying new jeans because your old ones are too big?
You must be looking really fabulous these days. I thought you looked great last time I saw you (was that really over a year ago?), and if you've dropped a size or two since then you must be just about at goal.
Aw, thanks, Laura! I'm probably about 1-1.5 sizes smaller than when you last saw me.
"Goal" is kind of a fluid term for me. I'd like to lose probably another 2 sizes total in jeans and I'd be more than satisfied. (Heck, I'm thrilled right now.)
OTOH, I am guessing at that point I'll still be 10-15 lbs heavier at the scale than I know my doctor would like to see. I guess I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
