Thursday

Quick update since I am again having connectivity issues. I think it's related to the firewall...

Anyhow, I'm well and truly committed to running a 5K on Thanksgiving. I signed up our team yesterday and will be adding a couple of members this afternoon.

And on that note, I procrastinated as long as I could but I finally decided I'd had enough of being a blob. I'm officially back "in training" for this race, so I went for a run this morning. Coach Sean and Vol. 3 of Cardio Coach got me out into the cold for about 45 min.

In other workout news:

"2008 - Cathe Gets Serious"

What the heck was she before? Cathe Friedrich is planning her next series. STS - Shock Training System - is a periodization system that sounds a little like P90X to me. One major difference from P90X is that she uses premixes to add even more variety to the workouts. The series consists of 9 weight workouts (3 each: Lower Body, Back/Chest/Shoulders, Bis/Tris) and Ab Circuits (1 DVD with 6 abs/core routines). I'll be curious to hear more about this approach.

Wow, I thought Hardcore was her answer to P90x. It'll be interesting to see what the program turns out to be.:)

Hmmm. I have to admit, this is the first time I've been "eh" about pre-ordering, mostly because I don't like the way she is splitting the parts (she seems obsessed with bis/tris to me - wouldn't it make more sense to split the bigger parts like back and chest?). Also, I thought the boxing series was next, did she bag that??

Heh, I thought the same about the bis/tris. I do want to hear more but I am not entirely sold yet.
