Tuesday

Baby steps and all that.

DH's first dr. appointment of the week was better than expected. Really good news. I'm not expecting today's to be as positive but I am definitely more optimistic.

I finished my assignment in good time yesterday. Yay.

Class got out early. Yay again.

And I went for a run outside first thing this morning. (Cardio Coach Vol. 4) Brr! I managed 38 min before, well, I needed a break. I finished up the last steady state and the cooldown on my spin bike.

I'm watching the weather like a hawk and, at best, it's going to be *cold* on Thanksgiving Day and will likely be pretty windy at the 5K site. At worst, there's a chance of snow... Ack.

Update: DH's appointment actually went pretty well. At least, from a medical perspective. His new doctor came off as a jerk in terms of his advice, but maybe that is the only way that he thinks he can get his message across? We were forewarned. He's a very good doctor by all accounts, but finesse and tact aren't his forte. He said some things that he probably needed to say, but, well, ouch.

Still, that light at the end of the tunnel is definitely a little brighter this afternoon.

(((Rose))) I'm so glad Tom's doctor appointments are going well. I'm just sorry the doctor he saw today wasn't more personable.

Rose, I'm sorry the doctor is such a jerk, but at least you knew it going in. And I'm glad Mr. Rose got good news.

I'm sure your 5K is going to be fun no matter what the weather!! Be sure and take lots of pictures for us!

Thanks, ladies.

I don't entirely fault the doctor. In some ways, I do appreciate his blunt, tough love approach.

I think Dr. F did not realize we'd already received the same news/lecture 2 weeks ago from my brother (also a doctor) who'd had a chance to see the initial results. When we didn't give him the response he was expecting, Dr. F. probably thought we weren't listening and wanted to make sure that we got the message.

Hmm, photos at the 5K? I guess this is my excuse to buy a new outfit! :)
