Greetings...

...from the top of Iowa. Seriously, that's how they referred to this area last night when we stopped.

Anyhow, we opted to spend last night here to get some sleep. Our first appointment today is after noon so we've got plenty of time to make the hour and a half drive.

So as not to entirely blow off this rotation, I did get up early to workout. P90 Masters Core Cardio. It's a reasonably similar, if slightly shorter, version of Core Synergistics. So woohoo for me. :)

You're right -- woohoo for you!!!! I'm very happy for you that you did the workout. I probably wouldn't have. :) Hope all went well with the appointment.

Rose, you rule. I know how hard it is to stay disciplined about working out when you're on the road and under stress.

I hope things are going smoothly for Tom. Is he being treated at the Mayo Clinic? The Mayo rules--I have an aunt in the Minneapolis St Paul area who was successfully treated there for breast cancer a couple of years ago. They also did wonders for my grandfather after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer some 30 years ago. Ultimately he lost the fight, but I think the good care he received at the Mayo helped prolong his life and keep him a good bit more comfortable than he otherwise would have been.

(((Rose))) Let us know how everything is going when you have a minute. I was thinking of you and Tom this week.

Thanks, ladies! We're doing great.

Yes, Laura, we've been at the Mayo Clinic. There aren't even words to describe the entire organization. It is amazingly efficient but still entirely personal and focused on healthCARE. As another spouse commented, if the federal government were run like the Mayo Clinic, we'd be running trillion dollar SURPLUSES every year.

I don't want anyone to HAVE to go there, but if you need medical care for whatever reason and have the opportunity to go there, I would highly encourage you to do it. It's totally worth the effort.
