How is Beyond the Scale working for you now, Weight Watchers?

I admit that I am gloating a little but clearly I am not the only one disappointed by the direction of Weight Watchers these past few months.  The disastrous Beyond the Scale roll-out with no warning during the holidays and my frustrations with the new SmartPoints program were bad enough but then they followed up with commercials featuring Oprah Winfrey that just feel condescending.  (I do like the commercial with the woman hiking up a hill.  She looks accomplished and empowered.  Please, Weight Watchers, more of that!)

I chose to vote with my wallet after reading one too many patronizing responses to very real concerns posted on the company's Facebook page.  (Don't get me started on their lack of support for Android smartphones - still no FitBreak app for us!)  I was not the only one.

Oprah sheds millions as Weight Watchers stock dives

In the meantime, I have been tracking with a free app on my phone and losing weight.  I miss the camaraderie of the meetings and the cheerleading/support of my leader but I am doing fine on my own.

I can only hope that Weight Watchers will learn from its mistakes, listen to its long-time customers, and adjust accordingly.  I do believe there is benefit to a program like theirs and certainly a place in the market.
